The Radiosurgery Society (RSS) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the RSS Early Career Physics Fellowship. This fellowship supports the professional growth of early‑career medical physicists while strengthening engagement with the RSS and its Physics Committee.
The 2026 Fellowship is dedicated to the memory of Grace Gwe-Ya Kim, PhD, Medical Physics Officer, RSS Board of Director Member 2024-2025, whose contributions to the RSS community are deeply cherished.
Fellowship Benefits
Travel support (up to $2,000) to attend the 2027 RSS Scientific Meeting
Waived RSS membership fee for one year from current membership expiration
Waived registration fee for the 2027 RSS Scientific Meeting
Personalized mentorship from a Senior RSS Member
Opportunities to contribute to Physics Committee initiatives and impactful projects
Fellowship Expectations
During the one-year fellowship, the selected fellow will:
Maintain active RSS membership
Submit an abstract to the 2027 RSS Scientific Meeting
Collaborate on a mutually agreed-upon project with guidance from a senior RSS member
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Earned a graduate degree in Medical Physics or a related field within the past five years (including current residents and postdoctoral fellows)
Three short paragraphs (maximum 150 words each) addressing:
- Career goals or areas of professional exploration
- Research and/or clinical interests related to SRS, SBRT, or emerging technologies
- What you hope to gain from the fellowship
Selection Process
All applications will be reviewed by a selection committee whose members have no conflicts of interest with any of the applicants.
