The Radiosurgery Society (RSS) is pleased to announce the designation of RSS Fellow (FRSS). This category is meant to honor RSS members who have distinguished themselves through exceptional service to the RSS and to the advancement of SRS, SBRT, and cutting-edge therapies.
Objectives - Acknowledge professional excellence and sustained involvement in SRS, SBRT and related disciplines.
- Highlight leaders who have advanced clinical care, science, and education in SRS/SBRT and related disciplines.
- Promote continued engagement, mentorship and excellence within the RSS community.
- Build a network of senior leaders who contribute to the strategic advancement of the RSS.
- Serve as a mark of distinction among peers in SRS, SBRT and related disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria Candidates must:
- Be current RSS members in good standing and have maintained a minimum of 10 consecutive years of RSS membership following completion of training, as of December 31, 2026.
- Have made notable contributions to one or more of the following:
- Clinical innovation or scientific advancement in SRS, SBRT or advancing therapies.
- Education, mentorship, or training initiatives within the RSS.
- Leadership or service on RSS committees, task forces, or the Board.
- Contributions to the RSS Scientific Meeting
- Publications, research, or advocacy efforts advancing the mission of RSS.
- Leadership or other activities in hospitals, clinics, or professional societies pertaining to SRS, SBRT or advancing therapies.
- Substantial contributions to education in SRS, SBRT and advancing therapies. - Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics and collaboration.
Nomination Process - For the first class of Fellows, the candidates may be nominated by members of the RSS. Subsequent classes must be nominated by a current RSS Fellow.
- RSS members should submit their nominations using the Nomination Form by Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET.
- Once a nomination has been submitted, the RSS will reach out to the nominee to either accept or decline their nomination.
- If the nominee chooses to accept their nomination, materials submitted for consideration need to be received by Thursday, October 1, 2026, and must include:
- A completed nomination form.
- Curriculum vitae.
- A multi-point self-assessment completed by the nominee indicating how their professional activities have aligned with RSS-defined criteria.
- Two letters of support from current RSS members. - The RSS Fellow Nomination Review Committee will review nominations based on established criteria and make recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Selection and Approval - Final selection is made by the RSS Board of Directors upon recommendation of the RSS Fellow Nomination Review Committee.
- New Fellows are approved annually and formally recognized at the RSS Scientific Meeting.
