Webinar Description:
This webinar will review the evolving role of dose-escalated radiation therapy for pancreatic cancer, with an emphasis on patient selection, technical considerations, treatment delivery, and emerging clinical data supporting ablative SBRT approaches. The discussion will highlight how modern image guidance, motion management, and adaptive radiation therapy may allow safe delivery of higher biologically effective doses in appropriately selected patients.
Educational Objectives:
Describe the rationale for dose escalation in pancreatic cancer and how it may improve local tumor control.
Review patient selection and technical considerations for pancreatic SBRT, including motion management, image guidance, adaptive planning, and organ-at-risk constraints.
Discuss emerging clinical data and ongoing controversies regarding ablative radiation therapy for localized pancreatic cancer.
Advances in the applications, technologies and methodologies of stereotactic radiosurgery/stereotactic body radiation therapy (SRS/SBRT) continue to evolve rapidly and the delivery of treatment has become more complex, making it imperative that oncology professionals remain current in the state-of-the-art techniques. The Radiosurgery Society is committed to providing educational programming that creates a forum for global collaboration to improve professional practice by increasing their level of knowledge, as required to improve competency in the field of oncology.
The target audience includes radiation oncologists, surgeons, medical physicists, nurses, residents, trainees and healthcare providers in the field of SRS/SBRT, radiation oncology and medical oncology.
