In this webinar "Strategies to manage early stage non-small cell lung cancer with interstitial lung disease- SBRT vs Proton Therapy" we will review the existing literature and knowledge about the oncologic outcomes and toxicities of radiation therapy in patients with interstitial lung disease. A specific focus will be on potential emerging strategies to mitigate toxicities by optimized radiation planning, optimal selection of radiation techniques and preventative medical measures.


Educational Objectives: 

At the end of the webinar, the audience should be able to:

- To describe the current knowledge about oncologic outcomes and toxicities of radiation therapy in patients with early-stage NSCLC with interstitial lung disease (ILD)

- To describe radiation treatment planning strategies to mitigate toxicities

- To describe medical interventions aimed to minimize radiation toxicities

Advances in the applications, technologies and methodologies of stereotactic radiosurgery/stereotactic body radiation therapy (SRS/SBRT) continue to evolve rapidly and the delivery of treatment has become more complex, making it imperative that oncology professionals remain current in the state-of-the-art techniques. The Radiosurgery Society is committed to providing educational programming that creates a forum for global collaboration to improve professional practice by increasing their level of knowledge, as required to improve competency in the field of oncology.

Target Audience

The target audience includes radiation oncologists, surgeons, medical physicists, nurses, residents, trainees and healthcare providers in the field of SRS/SBRT, radiation oncology and medical oncology.
