Webinar Description:
This presentation will start with a review of the natural history of cerebral cavernous malformations (CCM). We will then explore the recent publications that synthesized currently available data on efficacy and outcomes following SRS for cerebral cavernous malformations in hemorrhagic cases. We will finally discuss outcomes of SRS for CCM presented with epilepsy. This data will be discussed in regard to surgery and follow-up.
Educational Objectives:
• Be able to discuss when to recommend SRS versus surgery and follow-up.
• Summarize the current evidence base for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in hemorrhagic CCM
• Critically appraise the methodological strengths and limitations of the published data synthesizing SRS outcomes for CCM
• Evaluate the role of SRS in CCM presenting with epilepsy
